Ha-Ra Club

Ha-Ra Club

Ha-Ra got its name from Hank and Ralph who founded the bar in 1956. Hank was a wrestler and Ralph a boxer. They left a lot behind in this Tenderloin watering hole. As you take a look around, you'll see original wood floors, reproduction red flocked wallpaper, an original wooden bar made by Brunswick-Balke-Collender (likely dating from the late 1880s), the original phone booth creatively made into a photo booth, old boxing gloves, the original Art Deco front door, a vintage refrigerator, and pictures from the bar’s one-year anniversary. A loaded pistol was even found under the cash register during renovations, which has since been framed and mounted behind the bar.
