Arion Press and M&H Type

Arion Press is where books are created from start to finish. The Arion facility is the last unified typefoundry, letterpress workshop, and book bindery remaining in daily operation in the United States. In its studio, skilled craftspeople and renowned artists work to make every part of the book by hand. Each title is produced in editions limited to no more than 300 copies, employing an irreplaceable collection of typefaces and historic equipment. An on-site gallery hosts exhibitions and other educational events, and guided tours are open to the public, allowing us to share the vibrant practice of fine bookmaking in San Francisco.
